Buffalo Consolidates Pincher Creek Interests
Buffalo Resources has completed the purchase of an additional 25% working interest in the Pincher Creek gas field for $6.8M. BFR acquires approximately 120 boe/d of production at a price of $7.00 per boe of proved reserves or $6.40 per boe of proved plus probable reserves. Buffalo now has a 100% working interest in substantially all of the Pincher Creek field. Thanks to great moves by Polar Star Mining (POS) and Buffalo Resources (BFR) over the last week of Auguat, the VCSI Index (the VCS Group Index of Leading Small Cap Companies) is down only 3.3% since the launch of the VCS Group on July 1, while the TSX-V Venture Exchange is down 24.7%, and even the TSX Main Board is down 4.8% since July 1. The VCS Group presents Canada’s Leading Small Cap Companies and the VCSI confirms it.

Buffalo Resources reported record financial results for the 3 and 6 months ended June 30, 2008. Shares of smaller companies often have the worst of it in a bear market. They are more susceptible to swings in the economy because they can be more financially fragile. It's certainly true that small-caps are the place to be when coming out of a stock market downturn, if you can time it. Analysts point out that one year after a bear market, the smaller the stock, the better the performance, with small-caps up 41.4%, versus 32.4% for large-caps.
